Location
Geneva International Airport is five kilometers away from Geneva city centre. It is a large airport, which serves a great number of airlines and is an international gateway to/from Sitzerland, France and the big and small ski resorts in both countries.

Transportation

by car
There is access to the main Swiss Sector in the air port from the N1airport motorway. From France you should take the A40 motorway to the border and then the N1 motorway. To avoid completely the Swiss territory, drive directly to the French sector via Voltaire-Ferney near Collonges on the D-984. At Ferney-Voltairefollow thesigns for Geneva and just before the Swiss customs take the road to the right to the French Sector of the airport.

by bus
Geneva city centre is very close to the airport. It may be reached by bus using the united network of public transport Unireso. To travel by tram, bus, train and boat in the area France-Vaud-Geneva you need only a single ticket.
Geneva International Airport is in close proximity to the train station. Bus stops are at the Departure level in front of the railway station. These are the ublic transport buses that stop at the airport:
Bus No.10 (every 10 minutes) - Geneva city centre
Bus No. 28 (every 20 minutes) - To international organizations and the lake or to Meyrin
Bus No.18 (every 30 minutes) - To Lancy
Public transport tickets and tourist information are available at the information desk of Unireso in the arrival hall after the customs. Tickets may be bought from ticket machines at the stops and at the train stations. There is a ticket for one hour for every direction, which costs CHF 2.20. a 3 hours ticket costs CHF 6 and a seven days ticket costs CHF. Aero Ski Bus service provides transport to many French ski stations. There are many other buses to numerousdestinations in Europe, which depart from the Airport.

by train
Train is the easiest transort means to get to Geneva city centre. You will travel 8 minutes betwenn the Cornavin central station and the airport. There is a train every 15 minutes. There is a stop of all trains at the city centre at Cornavin-Geneva. There is a direct access between the airport railway station and the Airport Departure/Arrival levels.

by taxi
Taxi services are available in front of the airport outside Arrivals. You may take Taxiphone SA Geneva (Phone 022 331 41 33) or Taxi des Bergues (Phone 022 732 30 32). They provide transport to Geneva city centre and more.

Parking

There are long-term and short-term car parking facilities with direct access to the airport. For long-term parking you may use the economy car park. For parking information call Centre de Contrôle des Parkings phone: (0)22 717 7099.

The P1 parking is long term with direct access to the main terminal and it is most practical. There are 224 available spaces.
1 hour = 2 CHF
4 hour = 8 CHF
1 day = 30 CHF
1 week = 155 CHF.

P31,32 and 33 are next to the CFF station. They are long term parkings partially covered, natural outlets of CFF station and the galleries, there are 360 avaiable spaces .

4 hour = 8 CHF
1 day = 30 CHF
1 week = 120 CHF.

P2 is situated at the arrivals, open air parking with short duration, maxiumum one hour with 175 total spaces.
10 minutes = free
20 minutes = 1 CHF
30 minutes = 1 CHF.

P20 is situated in the French Sector, it is a long term covered parking with 103 available spaces.
1 hour = 2 CHF
4 hour = 8 CHF
1 day = 27 CHF
1 week = 99 CHF

P51 is a long term parking for the greater part covered, it is 300 m. from the main terminal and is the cheapest.
1 hour = 2 CHF
4 hour = 8 CHF
1 day = 25 CHF
1 week = 85 CHF.

P3 is an open air parking with short duration, maximum 30 minutes with direct access to the Departures level and 90 total spaces.
10 minutes = free
20 minutes = 1 CHF
30 minutes = 2 CHF.

If the car parks are full use public transport with the possibility of luggage check-in on the day before the departure at the main railway stations in French speaking Switzerland. Or get someone to take you, in this case it is possible to drop off luggage and passengers at the Airport car park 3 on the departure level, the entry ticket is free for 10 minutes until exit.

Tourist offices: There are a number of tourist information offices in the Arrivals area of each sector for both French and Swiss destinations.

TCar rental: It is very easy to hire a car at the Geneva airport. Companies include Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Holiday Auto, National/Alamo and Sixt in the Swiss sector, and Avis, National/Citer, Europcar and Hertz in the French sector.

Cars hired in the French Sector
At your arrival you may reach the French sector and hire a car here. At departure you can bring back your car to the French side, do check-in and then reach the international sector via the transit area.

Money services: There are Banks, Bureaux de Change and ATMs in the airport terminal. There is a post office service and a mobile phone hire.

Luggage: in the main concourse of the terminal you may find Lost Property offices, phone: (0)22 427 9231 and at the train station as well, phone: (0)51 225 1433. Left luggage and a porter sevice is available. Automatc lockers at the arrivals level are available, which cost CHF 4,5 and 7 depending on the size of the luggage. There are luggage services at the CFF railway station as well.

Conference and Business facilities: the SkyCombusiness centre (phone: (0)22 717 7800) offers eight private offices with PC, modem and fax, 11 conference rooms with seats from four to 120 people, secretarial and translation services and a catering service. There is also a corner offering fax, phone and photocopying facilities.

Showers: Showersare available, info from the information desk, cost 15 CHF.

Eating and Drinking: You may choose La Marmite for traditional cooking, Aux Bonnes Choses for Italian food, Le Plein Ciel for the best in French cuisine, Le Cockpit serves fast foods and everything especially Swiss at the Swiss Chalet. You may relax at Bar Depart, Bar Arrivee, the Pubs Martel, Follow Me,or the Swiss Coffee House. There are many sweets shops, with delicious pastries and sweets.

Shopping: There is a great number of varius shops offering everything you need: from fashion, electronic and photographic goods to jewelry, fine chocolates, toys, flowers, food, books, leather goods. You may spend a whole day straying at the different shops at the airport. Duty free shops are also available.

Served Airlines: The airport serves all major and small international and national airlines.

Airport taxes: Usually airport taxesare included in the ticket price.

Activities near the Airport: Visit the impressive Cathedral de St Pierre in the heart of Geneva, rent a bike and cycle along the beautiful Lake Geneva and why not take a look at the world's tallest fountain Jet d'Eau.
