BG Leitershofen/Stadtbergen will return to the road to success against Frankfurt
The second home game for BG Hessing Leitershofen/Stadtbergen in the BARMER 2nd Basketball Bundesliga is on Saturday evening. The FRAPORT Skyliners Juniors from Frankfurt are guests in the Stadtberger Sporthalle (jump ball 7:30 p.m.).
After the defeat in Oberhaching last week, the Kangaroos would like to settle in the upper midfield of the table with their second home win in a row, even if the tableau is of course not very meaningful at this early stage of the season.
The people from Leitershof had recently had good experiences with the farm teams from the BBL. In the play-offs of the regional league, the preparatory games in September and on matchday one against Ludwigsburg, this very young team had only won against this very young team, while last week things didn’t go so well for the first time against the experienced warriors from Oberhaching . An indication of this could be that the young Leitershofer team with an average age of 22.8 years has a bit more routine and experience against even younger teams, but is then in the role of the inexperienced and has to learn against established second division teams. In a broader comparison to some junior teams, however, the Frankfurters are a bit positioned and with SkylinersBBL sports director Marco Völler (33) and Felix Hecker (24/previously 29 points on average) they also have two ex-Bundesliga players in the squad. In an emergency, you can also play with up to six players from the Bundesliga, some of whom have already received a lot of playing time there. Specifically, these are Jordan Samare (20/202), Nolan Adekunle (20/200), Justin Onyejiaka (18/195), Alexander Richardson (19/205), Lorenz Brenneke (22/206) and Joshua Obiesie (22/198 ). Kangaroo’s coach Emanuel Richter: “The Skyliners will certainly have a good squad, since the BBL team is not playing at the weekend. That will be a tough task against a very dynamic team, but we’ll do everything we can to get the win,” said Richter. The Stadtberger coach is not based on the previous games of Hesse. The defeat against top favorite Koblenz on the first day of the game was relatively close at 60:73 and then, despite a clear lead against Speyer, they lost 86:88 in the last second. Assistant coach Martin Jankov hopes for the support of the fans: “We need a full hall again and our spectators behind us, that releases strength. Our team has to give everything and do its best to end the match victoriously,” said Jankov. As a result, the mistakes in the Oberhaching game were also analyzed in the video during the week and conclusions were drawn from them. In terms of personnel, they will probably have to do without Marc Kaufeld, who is suffering from an inflammation of the patellar tendon. Max Uhlich took home a broken nose from the south of Munich, but will probably be able to play with a mask. Anyone who knows the BG captain and his enthusiasm knows that this will not be an obstacle for the 28-year-old senior in the team.
Tickets for the game are available in the online ticket shop on the Kangaroos homepage or at the box office. Admission to the hall is from around 6.15 p.m. “We tried the situation at the entrance
