ASI Transport Show on the roads of Rimini and San Marino
The history of utility vehicles returns to the streets with the eleventh edition of the spectacular ASI Trasporti exhibition, unique event in Italy with the participation of trucks, buses, commercial and recreational vehicles of all kinds that on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd October will parade in Rimini and then reach the Republic of San Marino.
ASI Transport Show shows to the general public the vehicles that have marked important milestones in the evolution of the transport of goods and people. They are the means that, at least as much as the car, were the protagonists of industrial, economic and social development in the twentieth century. Since the early 1900s, in fact, trucks and “omnibuses” (forerunners of modern coaches) have had a circulation on the difficult national arteries, first with steam propulsion, then with primordial but effective electrical systems, then with endothermic engines up to definitive affirmation of the most efficient and economical Diesel. The Italian industry has always distinguished itself in this strategic sector, reaching and surpassing new goals produced after the decade.
With the “Trasporti Show”, theAutomotoclub Storico Italiano brings to the fore a world made up of vehicles rigorously preserved or restored with the same criteria used for the most prestigious cars, so much so as to represent a “unicum” at an international level. Over 50 specimens are expected on Saturday 1 October at the Rimini Motorcycle Museumwhere they will be exhibited from 10.00 to 15.30 before the departure by caravan to the Republic of San Marino for the next display on the train station square. The public will be able to admire the vehicles until 6.00 pm on Sunday, while the participants will be engaged in numerous cultural activities.
That of ASI Transport Show “will be a multicolored and multiform column, with the most dated examples dating back to the 30s of the last century, like the Fiat 618 of 1936 and the Lancia 3Ro of 1939 representing the characteristic “curmudgeons” with a rearward cabin. For the 1940s, on the other hand, there is an iconic advanced cabin model, the 1947 Alfa Romeo 430; going up to the 1950s, the beginning of the economic boom, we can mention the 1954 OM Super Taurus of medium capacity and with a generous 5.8-liter engine. The 60s and 70s are certainly the most represented with a wide range of models and sizes for the most diverse uses, from small trucks to touring “couriers”, from articulated lorries to campers. Among the most recent vehicles that have already conquered a place in history, the Iveco Turbostar, the “king” of motorways in the 90s, cannot be missing.
