About Pag
Pag is the main town of the Croatian island of the same name, one of the country’s larger islands in the Adriatic, and the one with the longest coastline at 302 kilometres. The town was first established three kilometres south of its present location. Its architecture reflects the centuries of Venetian rule, and the contribution of the great Croatian constructor Juraj Dalmatinac. Two main streets intersect at a right angle, forming a square where the town’s most remarkable buildings are located: the Duke’s Palace, the Collegiate Church and the Bishop’s Palace. Pag is famous for its excellent beach, salt production, characteristic lacework, as well as for its cheese, salted anchovies and wine.
