A small town on the Dalmatian island of the same name, conveniently located close to Sibenik and Krka National Park, amidst thick pine woods, Rogoznica is notable for its lively marina and a nearby picturesque salt lake called Zmajevo Oko (Dragon’s Eye). Its parish church with a spire, dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, dates back to the early 17th Century. A chapel dedicated to Our Lady of the Chapel on the tip of the peninsula contains a picture of the Virgin that is believed to have miraculous powers, and is celebrated with an annual festival and procession in July.
