About Vela Luka
A small town of about 4,500 inhabitants, Vela Luka lies in a picturesque bay on the western side of Korcula, which is a large Croatian island on the Adriatic Sea. Belonging to the region of Dalmatia, the island is known for its mild climate, clean air and crystal-clear waters. In case you get enough of lying on the pebble beaches, Vela Luka offers a variety of opportunities for an active holiday: diving, windsurfing, boating, mountain biking, tennis, fish picnics and hiking in the prehistoric site of Vela Spilja (the Big Cave). Another attraction popular amongst tourists are the boat rides to the nearby islands of Proizd and Osjak, often referred to as oases of peace and tranquility.
