Situated in the region of Lorraine, Nancy is city of about 100,000 inhabitants and a capital of the Meurthe-et-Moselle departement. Owing to its rich iron ore deposits, Nancy has been prospering since ancient times. During the Middle Ages, the city became a proud capital of the Duchy of Lorraine.
