About Nuits Sant Georges
Nuits-Saint-Georges lies halfway between Dijon and Beaune. It's widely known as the centre of the wine-producing Côte de Nuits area of Burgundy. There are over 300 hectares of vineyards in the region, producing more than 12,000 hectolitres of wine every year. Red wine of the Nuits-Saint-Georges appelation is world-famous for its superb quality. Architectural places of interest include the Romanesque-Gothic Church of St. Symphorien with an early version of a carillon and St. Denis’ Church with an organ created Aristide Cavaillé, the builder of the organs in the Notre-Dame in Paris.
