About Salon-De-Provence
Located about 50 kilometres from Avignon, Salon-de-Provence is a charming old town surrounded by olive groves. It's best known as the home of the clairvoyant-scholar Nostradamus, whose house in the old quarter is now a museum. Other local attractions include the restored Medieval fortress of Chateau de l’Emperi, which used to serve as a residence of the archbishops of Arles, the 17th-Century town hall and the Moussue Fountain. The town is also renowned for its excellent olive oil soap and as the site of an annual international festival of classical music.
