About Parikia
Capital of the island of Paros, one of the larger in the Cyclades group in the Aegean Sea, Parikia (Patroikia) is a pleasant town of picturesque white houses with terraced roofs amidst orange and pomegranate trees. It is dominated by a Medieval castle called Kastro, sitting on top of a hill, fragments of ancient structures still recognisable in its building material. The town lies on the island’s northwest side, and has a harbour that is convenient for smaller vessels. Offering a broad range of accommodation, it’s a good starting point to explore the numerous attractions of Paros and to enjoy its sandy beaches and water sports.
