A small village of about 800 inhabitants cuddled among the Borzhony Hills in Pest County, Kospallag is a short drive from Hungary’s capital. The forests around it are a popular place for hiking, and there’s a lake nearby that is a favourite with anglers. The village was founded in the 18th Century by Slovakians who grew tobacco and grapes. The ruins of the 13th-Century Biber Castle are 2-3 kilometres from the village, and make a nice destination for a walk. Next to it are the ruins of the Pauline Monastery. The White Hill offers a wonderful view of the Danube Bend.
