About Tilburg
Located in the province of North Brabant in the Netherlands, in a beautiful natural setting of woods and scenic green fields, Tilburg is a town of 200,000 inhabitants famous as the wool capital of the Netherlands. In the heyday of the woolen industry in the late 19th Century, when Tilburg textiles were known far and wide, the town had 145 wool mills. Today, one of these factories houses the famous De Pont Museum of Contemporary Art. Tilburg is also proud of its ultra-modern Concert Hall with a state-of the-art lighting system, in which every performance is a special experience. The town’s cultural calendar includes a noisy and colourful summer funfair, the largest in the Benelux, and a Festival Mundial, an international festival of music, art and literature.
