About Torremolinos
Torremolinos is a town of about 55,000 inhabitants situated on the Spanish Costa del Sol. Formerly an obscure fishing village, it was one of the first cities in the area to become a tourist resort in the 1950s. Due to the fact that the nightlife in Torremolinos is limited, the resort is more popular with families and older people, rather than the younger tourtists. The beaches surrounding the city are characterised by high-rise hotels, apartment blocks and a nice seaside promenade going all the way to the old fishing village of La Carihuela and Benalmadena Marina. One particularly popular attraction in the region is Calle San Miguel, which is a street lined with smart boutiques and gift shops. Torremolinos is also the proud owner of a large theme park, Tivoli World, and the Andalusian horse riding traditions exhibit.
