About Bern
One of the most favourite sites in Bern is BÄRENGRABEN Zoo. Since the late 1400s, it has been a residence to the city's mascot - the fat brown bear. According to the legend, Berchtold V declared that he would name the city after the first animal he kills. It was a bear understandably, because in those days the forests were full of them.
