About Belfast
The capital of Northern Island, district Ulster and second biggest city on the isle of Ireland i is Belfast. Its traditional name in Irish is Beal Feirste. Including the suburbs, the population is more than half a million people. Hills surround the city - it looks like an enormous crown. The mouth of river Farset is within the city. Belfast witnessed significant historical turmoil and much change. Only in the second half of XX-th c. there was relative calmness and the city could be developed, for example the Lagan riverfront was regenerated. A new Sports Arena was built; an international airport and a city airport have been built close to each other.
