Charles Bridge
Charles Bridge is the oldest and most famous bridge in Prague. It was being constructed from the XIVth until XVth century. Before 1841 it was the only connection between downtown area and castle. The bridge has a length of 516 metres and it is 10 metres wide. There are also many statues on the Charles Bridge. Most famous of them present: St. Luthgard, St. Crucifix, St. John of Nepomuk and knight Bruncvík. Close to the bridge you will find three towers that were built to protect the whole construction. Charles Bridge is certainly one of Prague landmarks. National Theatre is considered as a very important cultural institution known not only in Czech Republic, but also worldwide. It was opened on the 11th of July 1881 and Price Rudolf visited the inaugurational gala. Then it became a venue of the most sophisiticated performances of greatest Czech and international artists. At present it is still working and definitely worth visiting especially if you like arts.
