Prague 5: Smichov & Andel
Smichov and Andel are both situated 1.5 km southwest of the city centre close to Hradcany and Mala Strana. In the past Smichov used to be an industrial neighbourhood inhabited by working-class people. At present in this area you will only find Staropramen brewery, because all other big factories were closed down. There are also few cinemas and shopping centres in Smichov. Duškový villa which was visited few times by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is considered as the biggest tourist attraction of the district. In Smichov you may also see St. Wenceslas church. Both Smichov and Andel are well linked with city centre of Prague by undeground, bus and tram lines.
