North part of Marais is situated 1 km northeast of the city centre. It is a peaceful area with lots of theatres and few interesting museums. On the edge of 3e you will find Place de la Republique which is one of the most famous and greatest squares in Paris. There are also many XVIIth century mansions in this neighbourhood.
