For many people Louvre and Jardin des Tuileries are the heart of Paris. Louvre is one of the most famous museums worldwide. It contains greatest pieces of arts from all centuries and regions. In Louvre you will find Mona Lisa painted by Leonardo da Vinci and such sculptures like: Winged Victory of Samothrace or Venus de Milo. In addition to that paintings of Rembrandt and Rubens are also exhibited. Visiting Louvre is surely a must during the stay in Paris. Jardin des Tuileries is a park which formerly surrounded palace that was devastated by the fire in 1871. At present there is a committee which collects money to rebuild the palace. Anyway there are few interesting museums on the edge of Jardin des Tuileries. Most famous of them are: Musée de l’Orangerie, Musée de la Mode et du Textile, Musée des Arts Décoratifs and Galerie nationale du Jeu de Paume. Palais Royal is situated in the city centre of Paris north of Louvre. Two famous theatres called Comedie Français and Richelieu are located next to Palais Royal. Palais Royal was a seat of cardinals Richelieu and Mazarin. Even king Louis XIV spent his childhood there. At present the palace houses Constitutional Council, Ministry of Culture and splendid restaurant Le Grand Vefour.

Châtelet Theatre
