Schwabing / Olympiapark
Schwabing is one of the most prestigious locations in Munich. There is a univeristy in the south part of the district. Anyway, the biggest attraction is a huge park called Englischer Garten. It is dated back to 1789 and it is surely the biggest city park in Europe. There are two rivers: Isar and Eisbach that flow through the park. Englischer Garten was founded by the Elector Karl Theodor and placed in the bohemian suburb of Schwabing. At present it is almost city centre and when you walk along Leopoldstrasse you will mostly find buildings constructed in the characteristic Jugendstil.
