Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport is located in Spata 27 kilometres south-east of Athens. Due to huge traffic especially in the rush hours it is about 40 minutes drive from the city centre. Express buses will take you to the city if you don’t have a car. If you like to visit the small town of Spata you have to see some of its interesting churches such as: Holy Metropolis of Mesogea and Lavretiki or Parish Church of Kemesis of Theotokou.
