Ferihegy Airport
Ferihegy Airport is the main airport in Budapest and the busiest one in the whole Hungary. This important transportation hub is situated about 15 km southeast from the downtown area. In 2005 it attracted 8 million passengers. It provides connections with major European and North American cities. Recently, also low fares airlines have started to use this airport. As a result Ferihegy became one of the most popular destinantions in Central Europe. Apart from travelling, it is a great place for shopping as several duty free stores are situated on its premises.
