Clontarf
Clontarf is a residential district situated in the north-eastern part of Dublin. This area is famous for its picturesque coastal location as well as its past. In 1014 Battle of Clontarf took place there. In this clash Irish king Brian Boru managed to defeat Viking invaders and his victory caused the end of wars between these two nations. Moreover, a lot of famous Irish people have been linked with this neighbourhood, including a rugby player Brian O'Driscoll and a radio presenter Gerry Ryan. The biggest attraction of the area is Clontarf Castle which has lately been reconstructed into a modern and luxurious hotel.
