Parco Lambro
The Parco Lambro was created in 1936 by the architect Casiraghi, and is based on the principle of maintaining the natural Lombardy countryside, making good use natural water resources and vegetation. It is located in the north east of Milan, within the Comune di Segrate. Covering more than 90 hectares it is one of the city’s largest parks. Inside the park there are, however, several ancient country buildings including two cottages and a group of windmills including ‘the Torretta’, dating from 1600. Across the Lambro river, which owes its name to the numerous little lakes and ponds which are scattered throughout the aream leaving itvery well irrigated. The park is equipped with playing fields, sports equipment and rest areas.
