Vatican City is the independent papal state. It is situated on the hill on the right bank of the Tiber river. The greatest tourist attractions are San Peter’s Square with Basilica and Vatican Museums. San Peter’s Basilica has been the residence of Popes since 1377. It is decorated with masterpieces of art made by: Michelangelo, Raphael, Bramante, Borromini or Bernini. The most outstanding part of them is Sistine Chapel with the Last Judgement painted by Michelangelo. Apart from that all the art lovers should visit the Vatican Museums.
