San Polo
San Polo is a district situated between San Marco and main railway station. The area is crossed by Grand Canal which is the main waterway in Venice. In San Polo you may visit famous Rialto bridge which was the first bridge over the canal. Another attraction is Chiesa di San Giacomo di Rialto church which is the oldest one in Venice. Besides there are also few other interesting churches in San Polo: Chiesa di San Cassiano, Chiesa di San Giovanni Evangelista, Chiesa di San Polo (Paolo Apostolo), Chiesa di San Rocco, Chiesa di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari. Central part of San Polo is covered by market where you may buy lots of different fruit and vegetables.
