Old Town
Old Town is the most interesting part of Warsaw situated between the downtown area and Vistula river. This district was totally destroyed during the Second World War and it was carefully rebuilt in communist era. At present Old Town is full of cultural institutions. Thus you may find here many theatres as well as National Opera. Well-known Krakowskie Przedmiescie street crosses this district. By the street you may see: Baroque St. Cross church, Warsaw University, Namestnikowski Palace that is a seat of the Polish President and another governmental building - Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. If you like to rest then you should go to Krasinski Garden which includes great Krasinski Palace. Very close to it you may admire Warsaw Uprising Memorial.
