Belem
Belem is a district situated in the western part of Lisbon by the Tejo river. In the past there was a very important seaport in Belem. Such famous explorers like Vasco da Gama, Ferdinand Magellan and Bartholomeu Dias started their great expeditions from here. Besides Belem is famous for summer palace that is a residence of the Portuguese Royal Family. Two other main attractions are: Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery. You may also visit two museums: Museu Nacional dos Coches and Museu de Marinha.
