Casco Viejo
Casco Viejo is a district situated in the historic city centre of Bilbao. Thus most landmarks may be found here. There are few interesting churches in this area: Iglesia de San Nicolás, Iglesia de San Antón and Catedral de Santiago. In addition to that you have a wide choice of museums: Museo de Pasos (La Burrería), Museo Vasco e Igl de los Santos Juanes and Museo Diocesano e Igl de la Encarnación. Anyway the whole Casco Viejo offers lots of boutiques, shops, fancy restaurants and stylish cafes. The medieval trading exchange building called John Palace is located nearby as well as Plaza Nueva which is considered as the oldest square in Bilbao.
