City Centre East
City Centre East is situated east of Limmat River. The major attraction of this area is Grossmünster Cathedral. It was built in Romanesque and Gothic style in the early Middle Ages. The temple is dedicated to the patrons of Zurich: Felix, Regula and Exuperantius. Entrance to the cathedral is free of charge, but you have to pay extra if you want to visit the towers. Another hotspot is Fine Arts Museum. It presents paintings and sculptures from different periods of time. However most of them were created in the XIXth and XX century. Masterpieces of such artists like: Bonnard, Braque, Chagall, Lipschitz, Marini, Mondrian, Munch, Picasso, Rouault, Rodin, Cézanne, Degas, Monet, Toulouse-Lautrec, Utrillo, Rubens and Rembrandt are exhibited.
