Picadilly
Piccadilly is a district located in the city centre between Victoria Train Station and Piccadilly Train Station. All hotspots are located here. One of them is Albert Square with Town Hall which is concerned as the heart of Manchester. Then you should see the St. Ann’s church. It is a Neo-Classical building finished in 1712. Another interesting temple is cathedral, that represents Gothic style. There are many woodworks decorating its interiors like “Ripon Carvers”. The oldest part of the cathedral are piers, that support the tower. They come from 1380. It is very close from the cathedral to Arndale Centre. It used to be a shopping mall and commercial centre surrounded by Royal and Corn Exchanges, Longridge House and Marks & Spencer. Unfortunately in 1996 bomb explosion damaged the whole area and all constructions had to be repaired and rebuilt. After a tiring day it is a good idea to go to Piccadilly Gardens – the most popular park located in the city centre.
