Khatyn Memorial

The Khatyn Memorial is a huge complex constructed in 1966 near Minsk in the village of Khatyn. It commemorates the casualties of the German occupation during World War II, when 618 villages were burned by the Nazi troops. Most of them disappeared from the map forever.

Mount of Glory



The Mount of Glory is an artificial mound erected 21 kilometres away from Minsk on the highway to Moscow. The impressive monument is located at the exact place of the battle from 1944 where the Soviet army liberated Belarus from the Nazis. The construction consists of four obelisks shaped like bayonets – a symbol of the four fronts of the liberation battles.
