The Victory Square is a spacious circular area in the centre of the Belarussian
capital, surrounded by imposing buildings in communist style. The landmarks of
the square are the Monument to Hero Cities and the adjoining Victory Monument
dedicated to the Soviet army – a 40 metres high granite obelisk.
