Kiek in de Kok, or "Peep into the Kitchen" is an artillery tower, a part of the former fortifications of Tallinn. The name comes from the Medieval Germans, who called it Kiek in de Kok, because from the tower one could see what is going on in the kitchens of the neighbouring houses. In the outer walls of this six centuries old monument there are some cannon balls still. Today, the last third floor of the tower houses a museum and a photographic gallery.
