The gallery was established during 1962 by Rene Metras, who was an active presenter of the vanguard art in Spain at that time. Since its foundation the gallery hosted many exhibitions of famous artists, such as: Arp, Cuixart, Chereau, Delaunay, Fontana, Ferrant, Hartung, Ponç, Saura, Vasarely, Zush. Since 1984 the gallery's main goal was to discover and promote to the public new and young artists as well as from Spain, and from other nationalities. Other world-famous artists whose works the gallery had displayed through the years are: Angel Alonso, Miquel Aparici, Hans Bellmer, Angel Bofarull, James Brown, Chillida, Joan Descarga, Fautrier, Feito, Guimaraes, Maria Girona, Ramon Herreros, Matias Krahn, Richard Long, Charles Metras, Santi Moix, J.L. Pascual, Picasso, Tapies, Tabara, Alicia Vela, Miro and many others.
