Cafes in Vienna

Perhaps the ultimate favourite pastime for people in Vienna is sipping a coffee in a traditional coffee house, preferably followed by a bite of the city’s world-renowned speciality, the Sacher cake. However, this isn’t the only type of cafe you can come across in Vienna. The city is vast and diverse, and so is the selection of cafes it has on offer. You’re bound to find what you need, whether you’re interested in a fancy venue after a visit to the opera house or you want a quick latte in a place that has Wi-Fi. In the first case, go to the classy Café Central in Herrengasse 14 or Café de l'Europe in Graben 31, perhaps for a fiaker, which is a mocha with brandy. Backpacking tourists will probably feel more at home at BIG Net in Kärntner Strasse 61, where they can go online and plan their next journey over a melange coffee and a strudel.
