Like in all of Italy, coffee is deeply cherished in Venice and there are lots of great street cafes to choose from. Perhaps the best way to unwind after a few hours of sightseeing is to indulge in a cup of good coffee or a typical Italian dessert, at the same time enjoying a view of an ancient square, water or just people passing by. The Florian, on Piazza San Marco, is probably the most famous cafe in Venice. Some of the nicest cafeterias which offer good value for money can be found a bit away from the touristy areas in quieter parts of the city, the same being true of Venetian restaurants.
