Cinemas in Berlin

Home of the Berlinale Film Festival, Berlin has over a hundred cinemas that show movies for every taste and age, most of which are concentrated on Potsdamer Platz (also the location of the interesting Film Museum). In Berlin, there is a good balance between the big multiplexes which screen the newest blockbusters and smaller, more intimate art-house cinemas attracting audiences with extraordinary retrospectives and rare cinema screenings, including silent movies and movies from across the world. The majority of foreign films are dubbed into German instead of being subtitled, but numerous movie theatres in Berlin do show movies in English or the film’s original language.
