Cinemas in Madrid
Although today the mall multiplexes have taken over, several large historic cinemas are still in existence in the Spanish capital. Often called movie palaces, they are situated along the Gran Via, Madrid’s main street, and easily recognisable by their big publicity posters. Actually, the Gran Via is home to the densest concentration of cinemas in the entire city. The majority of commercial films shown in cinemas in Spain are dubbed into Spanish. That said, for those who wish to watch movies in languages other than Spanish, there are a number of cinemas screening British, American and other international movies in their original language.
