Markets in Madrid

Nowadays, the traditional market is an inseparable part of Spanish life. There are numerous small markets throughout the city, offering a wide variety of goods. Especially for those interested in Spanish cuisine, a visit to one of the markets in Madrid is a must. Apart from excellent fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and seafood, you can buy an array of exotic products, from Indian garam masala to Japanese noodles. Besides the numerous food markets, you should also visit one of the traditional open-air flea markets, usually taking place on the weekends. There, you can choose from old collectible coins, antique furniture to vintage clothes and punk CDs from the 70s.
