| The Amsterdam School of the Arts (Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten) is a government-funded Institute of Higher Professional Education. It was founded in 1987 after the merger of the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture, the Academy of Fine Arts, the Netherlands Film and Television Academy and the Reinwardt Academy. In 1988, also the Theatre School and the Hilversum Conservatory joined the Amsterdam School of teh Arts. In 1994, the merger with the Sweelinck Conservatory resulted in the establishment of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. The postgraduate DasArts Institute was set up the same year, followed by the BINGER Institute in 1995.

| The Anne Frank House offers a glimpse of what happened in the rooms of the Secret Annex. Although the rooms of the annex have been maintained and preserved, the original furniture was carted away after the family’s arrest. The salvaged documents, as well as objects belonging to the eight people who dwelt in hiding, are displayed in the Secret Annex.

| The Beurs van Berlage is a building in the centre of Amsterdam which was designed as a commodity exchange and influenced by Modernist architects. Architect Handdrik Petrus Berlage (1856-1934) constructed the building in the same period as Amsterdam’s Centraal Station and the State Museum, between 1898 and 1903.

| The Biblical Museum in Amsterdam houses a large collection of archaeological discoveries, Egyptian artefacts, a centuries-old model of the temple of Solomon and Herod, and religious items from the Judeo-Christian tradition. The site also holds a 19th-century model of the Tabernacle. The displays focus on a model of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem as well, a sacred place for Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The museum also showcases an abundance of clay tablets, papyrus fragments and archaeological remains telling the story of the bible’s beginnings and its influence on Dutch society.
