The theatre's full name is Auditorium du Passage 44 and it is one of the top venues for festival activities and other art events in the capital of Belgium. The venue is equipped to host various events - theatre plays, concerts, discussions and festivals. There is also a cinema, in which much goes on as well, for example it hosts the cartoon festival.

The Palace of Fine Arts in Brussels was built just after World War I as a symbol of various artistic disciplines coming together and intertwining in order to reveal the real social contribution of art. The Royal Circus of Brussels is located in the Botanic Gardens. It has modern equipment and a big arena which ensure a unique ambiance of concerts, circus performances and other events. The circus often hosts operettas and theatre performances, very impressive when presented on the circus' huge arena.

Even before Brussels began to be considered the capital of Europe, it had the ambience of a cosmopolitan city. It cherished the traditions of Europe and appreciated the national contribution of all members of the future EU family. This attitude is best expressed in art. Proud of its theatrical traditions – both of the Flemish and French communities, Brussels encourages new establishments, the most popular of which is the English Comedy Club, or ECC, founded in the beginning of the 20th Century.

Kaaitheater was established in 1977. It started as an art festival held every two years. In the 80s, Kaaitheater became more than an artistic tradition. It expanded its programme and began to perform all year round in the two buildings it acquired and grew in influence as the art centre of Brussels. The programme of the theatre today focuses predominantly on modern works, including theatre plays, music and dance. Bigger production are held in its main building and other events take place in the smaller one - the Studios, a charmingly refurbished former brewery. Both are located very close to each other and just a few steps from the centre of the city.

Theatre 140 has been operating for the last four decades in the heart of the capital of Belgium, featuring dance, music, theatre and a variety of other art forms. In Brussels it is simply called La Balsamine. The theatre, which was established in the beginning of the 80s, is still housed in a former military barrack. It was redesigned and fully equipped for staging all kinds of performances. The programme of the theatre includes a whole spectrum of theatre, dance and music shows, especially avant-garde productions. Aspiring companies are always welcomed on its stage.
