A visit to the Czech Republic wouldn’t be a complete experience without trying Czech drinks, and there’s a multitude to choose from. Besides the world-famous Pilsner beer, which originated in this country before becoming the most popular kind of beer in all of Europe, the Czechs also produce top-quality wines in the regions of Moravia and Bohemia. Stronger alcohols such as Fernet Stock or Becherovka, strong herbal liqeurs, also have their fans. Slivovica, a kind of fruit brandy, and Borovicka, a Slovak version of gin made from juniper berries, are reserved for those who have strong heads for alcohol.
