The location and climate of Spain allows you to keep active during your stay in the country during in all seasons.

Swimming
Spain is known world-wide for its remarkable seaside. More than 4,000 kilometres of coastline, plus the Balearics and Canaries, represent a real paradise on Earth. If your idea of a holiday is lying on a white sandy beach and swimming in the blue waters of both the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, then Spain is the right place for you. Spain is the country with most blue flags in the world, an international prize awarded to beaches with excellent quality. The Spanish seaside boasts 499 such beaches. It is impossible to say which are the best places for swimming in the country because the choice is truly enormous and tastes are different. However, some of the most popular beaches are Playa de Estorde in Galicia, Playa de Conil de la Frontera near Cadiz, Cala de Algaiarens on the island of Menorca, Playa de las Americas on Tenerife alongside many, many others. Arranging a seaside holiday in Spain seems to be the easiest thing, as thousands of tour operators include Spanish resorts in their catalogues – all you have to do is choose one.

Hiking
A very healthy and pleasant way to discover the beauty of Spain in all its aspects is to make a hiking tour through some of the most scenically exciting and unspoiled areas in Europe. You can observe wildlife in natural surroundings, visit national parks, nature and game reserves, hike the Pyrenees, the Sierra Nevada or the Cantabrian Range or explore cultural points of interest. The most attractive routes are in Navarre, on the island of Gran Canaria and the Picos de Europa in the regions of Asturias and Cantabria. For keen hikers, Sierra Nevada and the Pyrenees offer challenging trails. In every region of Spain you can set off on your own, or look into organised excursions that take care of all the practical details.
