Moscatel
Moscatel comes from the Setúbal Peninsula, where the origins of wine growing date back to the ancient times. Moscatel Roxo, aged for 20 years is the most famous wine from this region. Other varieties, such as Moscatel de Favaios, from Douro and Galego are also very popular. They range in colour from white to amber and deep brown, but they all have a unique sweet taste and floral aroma.
Recipe: White Peach Sangria
1 bottle of Moscatel wine
0.75 cup of peach flavoured vodka
6 tablespoons of frozen lemonade
2 medium white peaches, pitted and sliced
0.75 cup of red grapes
0.75 cup of green grapes
Mix wine, peach vodka, lemonade and sugar in a large pitcher. Stir until sugar dissolves. Then add sliced peaches and grapes. Put it in the fridge for 3 hours. Serve over ice in a tall cocktail glass, decorated with sliced peaches and grapes.
