TOUR DESCRIPTION
Spend a day in Herend, where you can admire delicate masterpieces of the porcelain factory established over 150 years ago. See how the Victoria pattern, the Art Nouveau and Hungarian style motifs are hand painted onto the porcelain, before continuing to Lake Batalon.
This tour is seasonal and operates from April to October only.
Herend is a world famous town of Porcelain, the Victoria pattern, the Art Nouveau and Hungarian style motifs which are all hand painted. The tradition of painting the highly successful patterns and making the statuettes is passed down from father to son.After a guided tour through the world largest porcelain factory, (founded in 1826), you will have an opportunity for a coffee break at the "Porcelanium' and possibly some shopping.
Continue to Lake Balaton, the largest fresh water lake in Central Europe, which lies at the foot of the volcanic hills of the Balaton Uplands. This visit is then followed by lunch in a traditional Csarda, (three course menu with wine).
After lunch drive to the oldest spa in Hungary, Balatonfured, (Promenade), before returning to Budapest to your hotel where the tour concludes.
