Travel north of Porto to the mountain of Minho. You will visit the religious village of Braga which boasts history of over 2,000 years, and UNESCO World Heritage listed Guimaraes, birthplace of D Afonso Henriques, first king of Portugal.
The lush green valleys and mountain of Minho make for a beautiful and educational excursion north of Porto.

Braga also has deep religious roots and you may feel small in comparison to so much beauty. With history dating back 2,000 years, you may like to take a walk around the Historic Center and have lunch (not included in tour cost) at a traditional restaurant.

The second great site visited on your tour is the medieval town of Guimaraes, UNESCO World Heritage listed and the birthplace of the first King of Portugal, D Afonso Henriques.
