TOUR DESCRIPTION
Scotland is a land where history, legends and magical tales are blended together against a backdrop of spectacular scenery, fairytale castles and wild open spaces. Visit Glen Coe, Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, Inverness and much more! A highlight will be the thrill of seeking out the truth of the Loch Ness Monster legend, is it a fact or just fiction?
This tour is seasonal and operates from March to October only.
The Loch Ness Monster - fact or fiction? Find out on this splendid tour through the glorious Scottish Highlands!

The journey northwards takes you through Rob Roy MacGregor country to desolate Rannoch Moor. You will travel through haunting Glen Coe, the "Glen of Weeping". In 1692, 40 of the resident MacDonald clan were massacred in cold blood by the Campbells for not forswearing the Jacobite cause. It is said that you can still hear their cries! You will stop in this awe-inspiring place to marvel at the natural beauty of the glen for yourself.

Next travel to Fort William, which sits in the shadow of Ben Nevis, Britain's tallest mountain. A real highlight is the drive through the Great Glen which is also the route taken by the Caledonian Canal. You will criss-cross the canal several times as you travel to Inverness. The Great Glen contains three lochs which will offer spectacular vistas

Firstly Loch Lochy, then Loch Oich and lastly Loch Ness. The pretty little village of Fort Augustus is our gateway to Scotland's largest and most famous loch. You will tour the entire length of Loch Ness, stopping at Urquhart Castle for a photograph. Here you can visit the Castle and enjoy a cruise (optional, not included in tour cost) on the loch ... could that shadow be the monster?

Shortly you will arrive in Inverness where you will make a stop to discover the Capital of the Highlands for yourself. Later you will start the journey southwards through the Spey Valley then on to the dramatic scenery of Glen Garry. There will be a brief stop in the delightful Victorian resort of Pitlochry before returning to Edinburgh.
