Independent home located in one of the most beautiful Italian “borgos” in the heart of Maremma at approx. 160 km from Rome.
A medieval house with wooden ceiling and beams from the 1600s in the ancient jewish “ghetto” of Pitigliano. It sleeps 6 persons and is composed of 2 storeys plus a small attic. The first floor is a single area with kitchen, sitting room and small bathroom with tub . On the second floor, the master room with adjacent bathroom with essential services and a small room with 2 double beds. A winding staircase brings to the attic with a futon bed which sleeps 2 with panoramic view. It is furnished with all comforts, including washing machine, hair dryer, micro-wave oven, fireplace, and mosquito screens.
How to reach it:
From Southern Italy:
Take the A1 Highway towards Milan and exit at Orte
After the Orte toll gate, take a left and then right for Viterbo
Before arriving in Viterbo, take a right towards Siena, Lago di Bolsena
At the following crossroads, take a left towards Capodimonte-Marta
When you are in Valentano, take a right and continue to go along the northern coast of the Bolsena Lake
The next crossroad gives directions for Pitigliano
From Northern Italy:
Take the A1 Highway towards Napoli and exit at Orvieto
At the toll gate, follow directions towards Acquapendente and Bolsena
Go through the town of Bolsena and proceed towards Gradoli, where you will find directions for Pitigliano.
Pitigliano is a unique town-fortress directly excavated in “tufo” rock not far from the Lake of Bolsena. It is a starting point for day trips to many characteristic medieval towns, including the famous Sovana. The Spas of Sorano and Saturna are easily reachable and it offers the possibility of trekking, horseback riding, and visit of the Etruscan necropolis.
