Found amongst the vineyards on the southern slopes of the main wine producing area of Madeira, a few kilometres west of Funchal, and just below the village of Estreito, the Quinta do Estreito was the main wine producing estate in the area.The main house has been totally and lovingly restored to become the Bacchus Gourmet Restaurant, the Vintage Bar and the Library reading room on the top floor that affords breathtaking views.A swimming pool and esplanade has been built alongside, and a cascade of 48 stylish rooms on the slopes below. At the foot of the Quinta, around an old adega (wine lodge) is the Adega da Quinta Restaurant, serving all of Madeiras typical country food.
